“I’ve shifted my musical focus close to a dozen times over the past year. These tracks reflect a few of these different phases. With each, I tried to capture the particular sound or musical character and reflect why it left an imprint on me. I also wanted to distort the form of traditional dance tracks, amplify certain characteristics, and shrink others until it got to a point where the phrases, loop changes, textures, all felt exactly right but weren’t necessarily conducive to a mix.”
